The best time to visit Lau Fau Shan is during the autumn and winter months, specifically from October to February.

During these months, the weather is generally cooler and drier, with pleasant temperatures ranging from 20-25°C. This makes exploring the area's outdoor attractions, such as the Lau Fau Shan Fish Market and the boardwalk along Deep Bay, much more comfortable. You'll avoid the high humidity and heat of the summer, as well as the typhoon season.

For those interested in birdwatching, particularly couples with a shared interest in nature, this period is ideal. The cooler weather brings a greater variety of migratory birds to the nearby Mai Po Nature Reserve and Deep Bay wetlands, offering excellent opportunities for observation. The crisp air also provides clearer views across the bay, which is superb for photography.

Visiting outside of the peak summer season also means fewer crowds, allowing for a more relaxed experience when enjoying the seafood restaurants and local shops.
